Steep slope roofs slope greater than 3 12 cut the panels at an angle for the valley then bend the hem end of the panel and hook it with a cleat.
How to install metal roof valley flashing.
In this video i show you how i do the valleys on a shingle roof.
Some roofers cut the shingles parallel to the flashing s center ridge.
Others start with a 3 inch wide.
Place a piece of sheet metal under the shingles to make sure you will not damage the flashing.
Now nail this first flashing at both its far ends.
Apply an approximately 3 inch.
Use 1 inch galvanized roofing nails.
Make sure to cover the gap at the bottom of the raised ridge.
Recommended procedures of basic valley flashing installation.
Attach the flashing panel in place at the bottom.
To splice the pieces add roofing cement to the lower piece and install the upper piece with at least a six inch.
Use fasteners to attach the panel to the structure making sure that there is complete compression of the sealant.

Cut the bottom edge and fold it down over the drip edge.
Lay the flashing down in the roof valley and start at the lower end of the roof.
Make sure that the end of the flashing panel is perfectly in line with the edge of the roof.
Install valley battens on both ends of the roof valley then attach first flashing 3 4 inches over the roof flange and another 3 4 inches over the fascia if any is present.
Fold the top of the flashing over the ridge.
Remember to caulk the underside of the flashing with a sealant.
Use tape sealant between the valley trim and the panel.
Then install a non corrosive metal valley flashing of 24 minimum width lap successive sheets of metal flashing a minimum of 12 inches and seal laps.
Step 6 install the flashing.
Install an underlayment centered in the roof valley.
