Raise the hinge pin s top cap to approximately 1 4 inch above the hinge loops.
How to get pins out of door hinges.
When a hinge is being particularly stubborn you can spray a silicone based lubricating spray to help it come loose.
Open and close the door a few times to further distribute the lubricant around the hinge.
Spray the hinge pin with silicone lubricant.
Keep in mind that the nail will be useless after you do this.
Wait for 10 to 15 minutes for the spray to penetrate the hinge.
Remove the hinge pin using a hammer and nail punch.
Tap upward on the bottom end of the hinge pin with a nailset or awl and a hammer.
Place the nail on the bottom of the door hinge and tap the nail s tip with your hammer.
Position the point of the nail at the base of the pin and gently tap the nail head from beneath to force the pin free.
Close your door and tap the hinge pin with a hammer and nail punch.
Put the flat end of the nail against the pin and tap it up with the hammer.
Simply spray the lubricant into the gaps under the hinge cap the hinge bottom and each of the hinge gaps.
Wait 10 to 15 minutes for the spray to penetrate all the moving parts of the hinge.
Step 3 insert the tip of a screwdriver under the lip of the hinge pin s top cap.
Close the door to take some of the weight off the hinge.
This seems to work better than any other way i ve found.
Spray a silicone lubricating spray over the moving parts of the hinge as well as into the top part of the hinge around the pin.
Also spray it over all the moving parts of the door hinge plate including its surrounding area.
Force the pin up from the door hinge.
Continue to tap it up gradually increasing the force until the pin is finally lodged upwards.
Tap the bottom of the hinge pin with a hammer and screwdriver to pop up the pin.
