Measure the area to be framed and plan for the number of trusses you will need.
How to brace roof trusses.
Now that the trusses are installed i make sure all the poles are plumb and headers are straight.
To hold them up until the decking of the roof is placed on top a 12 foot 1 inch by 4 inch piece of lumber is used.
Begin with the second gable end truss and work back towards the first gable end.
Bracing the second gable end is advisable.
On a one story building the gable end truss can be braced to stakes driven in the ground.
Unfortunately the gable end truss is difficult to brace back to the deck without the braces interfering with the second truss.
Step 1 measure and obtain trusses.
Usually trusses are put 24 inches apart.
Wind bracing truss clusters at both gable ends and at least every 20 add wind bracing green for truss clusters.
Step 5.
Step 2 lift trusses onto roof.
Bracing for putting up trusses as each truss is put up on top of opposite walls it must be put up straight and supported while the next truss is put up.
Once the roof trusses are stacked into a place they can be positioned one at a time.
Step 4 install temporary bracing.
Step 3 brace first truss to ground.
Stagger top and bottom cord bracing so the lumber ends on different trusses for additional rigidity as you work your way down the building.
Roof truss bracing done right.
Also plan for the temporary.
Start with the gable end truss.
Many builders start by sheathing the gable end truss on the ground and lifting that first.
