The installation process will vary depending on whether you re installing a swinging or sliding glass door but either way you ll need to start by assembling a frame for the door.
How to install shower door on tile.
Place end caps on the tops of the wall channels.
For the frame you ll need to install tracks at the bottom sides and top of your shower opening using sealant and screws.
Attach the door handles and any towel bars.
Put it in place and tape it down until the side rails are in place image 2.
Drill proper holes into the walls for the side rails.
Put the finishing touch on your shower door installation.
Place the glass clamp sweep into place on the door s bottom edge and secure it at the door clamp.
Round off the ends of the cut with a file.
Run a bead of silicone on the underside of the threshold piece image 1.
Tap a plastic anchor into the pre drilled holes in the tile image 3.
Attach the seal strip to the bottom of the door and cut it to the required length.
Cut the drip rail with a hacksaw to match the width of the door.
Slide the vinyl sweep back into the groove in the rail.
Pull the thin vinyl sweep out of the drip rail and set it aside.
Before you start setting tile take some measurements and see how the tiles will all lay out image 1.
Crimp the ends of the groove closed with pliers to hold the sweep permanently in place.
In our project we set the tile for the wall opposite the shower door first.
On the ceiling and floor of the shower we used 2 x 2 tiles and on shower walls 2 x 4 tiles.
