How to adjust spring loaded door hinge with no pins.
If your hinge has a tension pin inserted into the side of the hinge you need to pull the pin from the hinge with needle nose.
Rotate the wrench a quarter turn clockwise until you hear it click into the new position.
Place the hex wrench into the socket at the top of the spring hinge and turn in either direction to release tension on the pin.
Press the wrench down firmly to engage the locking mechanism inside the hinge.
Only adjust the hinge by 1 position at a time so you don t overtighten or break the hinge.
Remove the pin with a pliers.
I ll bet that you never knew you could adjust a self closing door hing.
Then try closing the door.
A spring loaded hinge should only be removed when the door is closed to avoid it slamming.
Screwing in a longer screw will help pull the door back toward the jamb.
Rotate the wrench until the next hole comes into view and install the pin.
You can then remove the hex wrench and allow the spring to naturally unwind.
Then remove the pin using pliers.
Tighten the screw all the way until the hinge is secure against the jamb.
Screw a 3 inch 7 6 cm screw into the top door hinge.
