How to install tracks for sliding closet doors.
The top of the track should be facing down toward the floor.
Angle the bottom of the door toward you while you let it down and the wheels should hook right onto the track.
To install the doors install the track on the top of the door s frame.
The task is easier if you predrill the holes and use a drill bit on the drill to secure the screws.
Attach it with screws.
Typically the top door rail is installed and the doors hung to find the exact positioning of the floor bracket.
Advantages of a track guide are that the door is kept on track all the way open and shut rather than at a certain point along the door.
Use nails or screws to install the wood strip and slide the bottom track over the wood strip.
Cut a wood strip and bottom track to this measurement.
Cut your tracks to size with a hacksaw if needed.
Position the top track on the top of your closet opening.
To install the bottom track begin by measuring the opening wall to wall.
Align the bracket track on the floor as per sliding door installation instructions.
Measure the opening of the door carefully so that you can leave the proper amount of clearance.
If you are installing a new track you will need to install a guide wheel on the bottom of the door.
Step 2 mark the screw hole locations through the track using a black fine point marker to mark the spots on the carpet.
Insert the door s wheels into the double track inside the upper door jamb lifting it as far as it will go.
