Reinstall the hinge pin.
How to fix a 6 panel door from closing itself.
The door should no longer move itself.
When i say slight that means a barely noticeable bend.
Place the hinge pin on a very hard surface such as a concrete step.
The lenses will most likely be attached to metal brackets attached to the garage door frame.
Move the top hinge leaf out away from the door stop molding or move the bottom hinge in.
Square up the door if necessary and clamp the stiles against the rails with bar clamps under light pressure then gently tap in the tenon wedges to tighten the tenons in their mortises being careful not to crush the fibers in the tenons.
Adjust the hinge to have it align correctly and snugly with the door and frame.
Take a hammer and long nail and tap the pin gently from the highest hinge.
Fold a soft cloth around your finger.
The easiest fix is to remove your middle hinge pin and put a slight bend in it.
It will also work on a door that opens by itself.
When a door tends to swing slowly open by itself if not latched you do just the opposite.
It only takes 5 minutes to do and i will bet my childhood football card collection that this will work.
Tap the screwdriver with the hammer until the pin pops up from the hinge and can be removed by hand.
Check to see if the hinges are aligned correctly before you take the hardware off the door completely.
Leave a slight gap in case you need to get it back out for further adjustment.
Work your way from the top of the door to the bottom.
Remove the pin by placing a screwdriver under the middle hinge.
For doors that are still reasonably tight or just beginning to loosen try the following.
You will find it will resist a little but tap it almost all the way in.
