How to change door lock motor.
Park your vehicle on a flat hard surface.
On a vehicle with electric locks the process is a bit different.
1a auto shows you how to repair install fix change or replace a broken or snapped power door lock actuator.
This video is applicable to the 01 02 30 04.
Carefully pull the range forward and unplug it.
Pull the entire lock mechanism up and guide it out of the door.
Engage the parking brake to the lock the tires and keep.
Remove the back panel.
This powers a small electric motor which spins a series of gears that moves the locking rod.
Push the actuator into place making sure that it and the harness are past the window channel.
Remove the screws that secure the back panel to the range as you remove the last couple of.
Press the unlock button on the remote key fob and the fob sends a signal to a receiver in the car.
If necessary have someone assist you when moving.
Place wheel chocks around the tires.
Now push the power door lock actuator back into the bracket.
Unplug the harness from the mechanism and use a screwdriver to push out the clips holding the actuator to the mechanism.
While doing this you can pull up or push down on the door lock to get it into a better position.
Disconnect the wires from the door lock.
To install the new door lock actuator first clip the wiring harness on.
