This is a short video on anchoring a wooden wall onto a concrete floor.
How to anchor a half wall on concrete.
Do this with 2 x 6 framing and anchor it closer to both.
The addition of concrete block to an existing concrete pad is a situation that will most commonly come up during a remodeling project.
Though this is a task that is more complicated than simply laying new block on the slab as it requires a higher level of thought and preparation.
If you fasten the bottom plate well to the floor in several places the plywood will tie the studs to the plate and really stiffen the wall.
A hammer drive anchor requires only a small pilot hole.
Drill through the stud to make a divot on the concrete.
Mark the location for the anchor centered on the two by four stud.
Insert a 3 8 inch masonry drill bit into a hammer drill.
Remove enough drywall to access the floor plate the flat 2 4 that runs along the bottom of the wall 2.
Place the two by four in its desired location.
Drop in the anchor and hammer on the pin to expand the bottom of the shield against the wall of the hole.
The one shown requires only a 1 4 inch hole.
