Measure the distance from the mid point to the mid point of 2 panels.
Smaller pieces can be hung a little closer together.
Start by placing the art panels on the floor to determine how close apart you want to hang them.
At fotoviva art prints we suggest spacing your split canvases between two and three inches apart.
Follow graphics below to mark where the picture hooks will be placed.
For smaller canvases it would be best to decrease the gap.
When hanging two pieces of artwork one above another treat them as one large picture find the center point between them and use the 56 60 rule.
6 8 the ideal distance between the bottom edge of art and the top edge of furniture the first figure tells you that the center of your piece should be around 57 inches or a bit more from the floor.
The gap does depend to some extent on the image and the size of the canvases.
The ideal spacing between multiple artworks is 3 to 6 inches.
The 57 inch number is a good average height but if your eye level is different be sure to use that measurement when hanging art.
