How does a garage door lock work.

Replace a garage door lock or handle with help from a garage do. When the door is unlocked a part called a tang is resting fully inside of the cylinder. An exterior handle skl9201 or skt9303 to lock the sliding bolt from the outside. A side lock sk7115 to lock the garage.

When an electric garage door opener is properly installed on your garage door a lock is not needed. In fact these electric openers already act as a lock for your door preventing intruders from being able to lift the door from the outside. The force of the door s motion can also be adjusted so the door stops moving. Replacing the lock or handle on a garage door can be accomplished with the appropriate tools.

Locking straps are made from small high performance plastic rectangles that are held together by metal pins. Also known as slide bolts or locking side latches.
