Your door s width should be 2 to 3 inches wider than the door opening and 1 inch higher than the dimensions of your opening.
How do you measure for a sliding barn door track.
If your barn door is 1 5 thick then you would have 1 between wall and door.
After looking up the supplies again i realized it was closer to 50 with everything needed for the track.
Add 4 to the measurement and you have your recommended door width.
Then subtract 1 to ensure that your door can close without scratching the floor.
Figure out where you want the track mounted i chose to mount it about half way between the ceiling and the top of the doorway.
Measure from outside to outside of casing molding.
